I have always had a strong passion for gardening plus my yard is where you would normally find me when I was off on the weekend.
- I would spend long hours putting in plants, trimming bushes, plus making sure my yard was easily a showplace for the whole neighborhood.
I worked full time so my weekends were basically just working in my yard as my “other work position”. It was all worth it each time someone would tell me how attractive it happened to be. All of this changed when the factory where I worked closed down. The people I was with and I were all given six weeks severance plus this allowed me to easily look for another job position that suited me better. I knew I didn’t want to go to another factory plus work on another assembly line. Because of my passion for growing various plants, I was intrigued when I saw a commercial for a job fair at the local marijuana farm. Now, I am in my mid forties plus couldn’t easily imagine myself working at a farm for marijuana. As it turns out, much of their workforce happens to be my age or older. They had a job listing for a Bud Trimmer. I believed that this sounded similar to tending plants much as I do so I applied for the position. I was hired plus at a fairly decent wage. My job is to go around plus trim the buds off the plants. This is incredibly similar to the job you would do if working with bonsai plants. I use especially small scissors to trim the particular part off the plant that is vital for production. If you had asked me years ago I never would have seen myself working at a place like this, although I care about it.
