Arthritis and CBD

For the past two or so years, I’ve been bothered by arthritis in our hands, then it got to the point where the pain & stiffness hindered our ability to do the things to am up to.

I was having so many problems gardening, doing crafts & even typing on the laptop, however the majority of prescription medications targeted at arthritis include some genuinely horrible side-effects that wouldn’t go away.

I was reluctant to take them but desperate for relief. A close friend of mine recommended CBD oil. Although there’s been lots of talk about CBD or cannabidiol, I didn’t guess much about it, then with a bit of research, l was told that CBD oil is being used to alleviate the pain of several forms of arthritis. Even though CBD oil contains extracts from the cannabis plant, it’s not marijuana. It won’t create a sensation similar to Marijuana. Marijuana is full of tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, which is a psychoactive substance. While marijuana does contain CBD, it is properly grown for the THC. The hemp plant provides the main source for the CBD used in products on the market, however hemp contains less than 0.4% THC, whereas marijuana contains anywhere from 5 to 35%. So many people are turning to CBD oil to help with the symptoms of arthritis. CBD oil interacts with the CB1 & CB2 receptors in the body, which take care of pain & inflammation. CBD is gave as a liquid, tincture, capsules & can even be applied topically. The liquid and tinctures can be added to food or drink & creams can be applied directly to the joints that are in bad shape. I decided to try the cream & have had incredible success; Since starting the CBD treatments, I’ve been able to find a significant increase in our range of motion. There’s far less pain & swelling, and I have returned to our number one things to do.
